Trauma-Informed Consulting
Lived and Learned Expertise
Kate Elysia brings professional expertise, academic training, and lived experience to help organisations, professionals, and individuals respond effectively to trauma, mental health, and sexual exploitation. Her consulting bridges clinical insight with real-world practice to create informed, compassionate, and practical solutions.
What is lived and learned experience?
Lived and learned experience means combining the insight of personal survival with the knowledge gained through formally recognised academic study. Unlike short, unaccredited courses, a recognised qualification such as a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree is subject to rigorous academic standards, assessment, and external validation.
Kate Elysia brings both dimensions. She is a survivor of grooming-gang exploitation and a Registered Mental Health Nurse with a BSc (Hons). She has also completed a postgraduate foundation year in Counselling Skills & Practice and is currently undertaking a Master’s degree in Psychological Trauma. This balance of lived reality and academically validated expertise ensures that her consulting is both deeply authentic and grounded in robust professional knowledge.
